A summit stage: Liñares, the Alto de San Roque with its statue of a pilgrim leaning into the wind, Hospital da Condesa and the Alto do Poio (1,335 m), the last big effort. Fonfría, Biduedo and the long descent through chestnuts and meadows to Triacastela, with its monument to pilgrims who carried limestone to the Castañeda kilns for the cathedral.
