How it is funded
Through featured listings paid by accommodations, organized Caminos booked through Xacobea, and affiliate links marked as such. Xacobea has no relationship with the Xunta de Galicia or the Xacobeo brand: “Xacobea” is the Galician adjective meaning “of Saint James”.
How we rank
Featured places and businesses come first: they pay for their position and can only be featured with a minimum rating of 8.5/10 (9 for Elite) and at least 10 reviews (newly opened ones provisionally). Among them, plan and bid decide. Then the rest, those with their own photos first. Nobody pays for reviews.
Data and corrections
Stages follow the official waymarked route (in Galicia, the Xunta’s line; elsewhere, the Camino routes in OpenStreetMap) and distances are the official ones. Accommodation and services come from official tourism registers, OpenStreetMap and our own checks, with a source and date. We review them every month (last review: October 2026). Figures and rules: the Pilgrim’s Office, Santiago Cathedral and the Xunta de Galicia. Spotted a mistake? Email hello@xacobea.com and we fix it within 24 hours.
