Along the Valcarce valley, between road and river, you pass Trabadelo, Vega de Valcarce (Sarracín castle) and Las Herrerías, where the toughest climb in Galicia begins: La Faba, Laguna de Castilla and the marker stone into Galicia. O Cebreiro, with pre-Roman pallozas and the church of Santa María, keeps the chalice of the Eucharistic miracle and the tomb of Elías Valiña, the priest who painted the first yellow arrows.
