History and what to see
A long cycle path leads to La Arena beach, and from Pobeña a clifftop trail follows the bed of an old mining railway. You cross from the Basque Country into Cantabria. In Castro Urdiales, the Gothic church of Santa María and the castle-lighthouse overlook the harbour.
