History and what to see
A stage through hamlets and shoreline of the Costa da Morte to Muxía. There, the Virxe da Barca sanctuary faces the sea. Legend says the Virgin arrived in a stone boat to encourage the apostle, and the Pedra de Abalar on the shore is said to be that boat. Many pilgrims walk this stage the other way, from Muxía to Fisterra.
Legends & tradition
Crawling under the Pedra dos Cadrís
Near the sanctuary, the Pedra dos Cadrís is a kidney-shaped rock with a gap underneath. Those who manage to crawl through seek relief for kidney and hip ailments, in a gesture that symbolises being born again.
