      Xacobea/Obradoiro square

      Obradoiro square

      Updated: October 24, 2026

Obradoiro is the square where the Camino ends and the monumental heart of Santiago. Four buildings frame it: the Cathedral, the Hostal dos Reis Católicos (a former pilgrim hospital), the Colexio de San Xerome (university rector’s office) and the Pazo de Raxoi (city council).

      When you arrive

      • Take the photo, then leave your pack: it is not allowed in the Cathedral.
      • From 16 October 2026 until further notice, because of works at the high altar, the 9:30, 12:00 and 19:30 Pilgrim’s Masses are held in San Agustín church; the 7:30 Mass stays in the Cathedral, in the Communion Chapel. (Source: Santiago Cathedral, accessed 24/10/2026)
