      Xacobea/Luggage storage in Santiago

Luggage storage in Santiago de Compostela

      Updated: October 24, 2026

Backpacks are not allowed inside Santiago Cathedral, so leave yours first. In the old town, a few minutes from the Obradoiro, there is pilgrim left-luggage for packs, suitcases, bikes and poles, charged per item per day. Your lodging will often keep it too. Check hours and price before you go.

      Where to leave it

      • Pilgrim left-luggage in the old town: there is storage a few minutes from Obradoiro square that takes packs, suitcases, bikes and poles, charged per item per day.
      • Your lodging: many will keep your pack on check-out day; ask when you book.

      Before you leave it

      • Keep your documents, money and credential with you: you need the credential to collect the Compostela.
      • Check when the storage closes if your train, bus or flight leaves late.
      • If you are cycling, ask first whether there is room: not every storage takes bikes.

If you walk without your pack

With a luggage transfer between stages, ask for the last drop to be at your Santiago lodging.
